Continuing with the Jimmy Wright arm of the Jack Wright family branch, we shine a light on my brother, John. When we were growing up, John was quiet, had a lot of friends and was close to our sister, Ann. (Annie Wright, please share more info about John as you know more than I do.) I do remember he loved music and looked forward to buying the weekly song sheets at Levinson’s so he could memorize the words to the songs. His favorites were Bob Dylon and the Everly Brothers. He served in the Marines after enlisting in the late 60’s and spent most of his time based in Hawaii. He used to say that knowing how to type because of taking the business course in high school kept him out of Viet Nam. They needed his office skills elsewhere. He married Nancy Yuscavage and they had two children, Jay and Kerry. Kerry was passionate about music, earning her degrees at Temple University. The photo of Jay is a relatively current one I copied from his facebook page. I’m embarrassed that I don’t know more about them. We lost touch through the years. He looks a lot like my brother, doesn’t he?John was very close to our cousin, Billy Wright, and worked for him for many years at Core Right Corrugated. He loved Bill like a brother.Sadly, John passed away from cancer a number of years ago. He lived with my mother for a long time and I enjoyed the conversations we had when I was home visiting her. He liked reminiscing and never had a bad word to say about anyone – ever. He once told me that when he had trouble falling asleep, he would take a trip down Luzerne avenue in his mind and try to remember who lived in every house on the street.Do you have any memories of him?
